Women Stem Up

Women STEM Up for Good Program

Program description

1) Women STEM UP for GOOD Programme – Short Description

The Women STEM UP for GOOD programme is a blended learning initiative designed to ignite female students’ passion for STEM and empower them to pursue E‑STEAM for social good. Through an innovative curriculum and dedicated train‑the‑trainer resources, the programme equips participants with the skills, confidence, and support needed to co‑create “Tech for Good” solutions that address gender equality challenges.
Delivered through engaging online webinars, interactive campfire sessions, and culminating in an international three‑day hackathon, the programme offers students a transformative learning experience. Participants engage with peers, mentors, role models, and STEM professionals, strengthening their entrepreneurial, creative, and problem‑solving skills while exploring inclusive E‑STEAM career pathways.
Grounded in recognized competence frameworks such as EntreComp and DigComp, the curriculum promotes challenge‑based, hands‑on learning that fosters innovation and collaboration. The programme also supports faculty members in adopting a gender‑inclusive, skills‑based pedagogical model, positioning Women STEM UP for GOOD as a model training programme to enhance female engagement in STEM across higher education.
By the end of the programme, students will have developed strong E‑STEAM competencies, gained real-world experience in socially impactful tech creation, and contributed valuable insights to ongoing skills development initiatives within academia.
The program was designed according to the curriculum available below and the training material was developed for mentors also available on the deliverables section of this website.

2) Camp Fire Sessions

The Camp Fire Sessions were delivered across four partner countries, each adapting the format to local needs while ensuring engaging and skill‑building experiences for participants. In Belgium, five virtual sessions explored sustainable and inclusive cities, reaching 11 participants. Sweden hosted an on‑site session on gender mindsets and biases in STEM with 23 participants. Greece delivered four on‑site sessions on Gender Inclusive AI and STEM entrepreneurship, engaging 19 women. Norway held sessions on Gender in STEAM, involving 10 students and three mentors.
Across all countries, the Camp Fire Sessions provided interactive learning, meaningful discussions, and opportunities to build E‑STEAM skills—forming a key experiential component of the Women STEM UP for Good programme.
All the training modules are available in the deliverables section of this website.
