Join Our Mentoring Program

As part of this project, we have created our own mentoring program offered for women students at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway), the University of Thessaly (Greece), and Linkoping University (Sweden).

Running between November 2024 and February 2025, this mixed methods mentoring program is aimed at increasing women students’ sense of belonging and retention in STEM. Students can benefit from various mentoring tools and settings, such as from the peer community of group mentoring and the dedicated attention of individual mentoring, as well as the more accessible format of online mentoring and the more personal face-to-face mentoring.

After the mentoring experience, mentees and mentors have the chance to evaluate their experience, so the mentoring program can be improved.

If you want to try our mentoring framework as a mentor, we offer you a chance now. Sign up through this form and we will reach out to you.

If you want to try the mentoring program as a mentee and you are a female student at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, the University of Thessaly, or Linkoping University, use this form to express your interest and we will get back to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

The goal of the Women STEM Up mentoring program is to increase women undergraduate and graduate students’ sense of belonging in STEM, by giving them a better insight into career pathways in STEM and personalised tips from those who already walked the path.

The Women STEM Up mentoring program runs between December 1, 2024 and February 28, 2025.

The mentors are STEM professionals from around the world, but mainly Europe, who, as part of their preparation, go through specialized mentor training created by the Women STEM Up project.

The Women STEM Up mentoring training is available and downloadable here.
The mentor-mentee agreement template, which can be used as a guide for the sessions, can be downloaded here.
Both mentors and mentees answer a number of questions in their signup form (mentee, mentor), so that matching can be based on some shared preferences. Program managers will match them based on these preferences.
We plan to match mentors and mentees by the end of November.
Each mentee will be offered 3 sessions, with each session lasting between 30 mins to an hour.
After the completion of the Women STEM Up mentoring program, every participant must commit to giving feedback about their experiences through an evaluation form in March 2025, which will need to be submitted by March 15th 2025.  Afterwards, each mentor and mentee will get a certificate of attendance.
